 Why are leaves GREEN?


The green color in leaves and blades come from a pigment called chlorophyll,which absorbs sunlight during a photosynthesis.One of the most important natural process on earth.During photosynthesis plants and trees use sunlight to convert carbon dioxide into air and water into energy rich sugar foods.That's why leaves are at their most lush and greenest during summer months. When the longest sunlight kick photosynthesis into overdrive.One bonus product of it is oxygen ,which is essential for life. In other word most life on earth is solar powered.




Why do leaves change color in the fall?

As the days goes shorter later in the year and temperature begins to plummet,photosynthesis slows down and produces less food. Chlorophyll in the leaves fades, allowing the foliage to explode in huse ranging from red to yellow.

Why do flowers smell nice?

You are not the only creature that likes to stop and smell the roses. Flowers create a fragrance to attract the pollinators. Humminbird , bees, butterflies and other winged insects. The pollinators transfer pollen between the flowers to create seeds. The sweet smell also warn other animal to search snack elsewhere. (The flowers are also toxic).

  











Why do cacti have spines instead of leaves?

These prickly plants have evolved to thrive into sunny deserts and sandy soils that will kill your averege potted geranium less than in a day . You might think cacti have spines instead of leaves to jab hungry dessert animals looking for a cactus snack, but that is only a half story .The spines keep the plant from loosing  water into the air.They also trap moisture from morning mist and evening frog. The moisture condenses on spines then drips to the ground, where it is soaked by the roots. In other words cactus spine create a plant's personal rain shower.




Why do some plants eat meat?

All plants soak up their energy from sun and slrup nutrients from dirt. But hundred of species developed an ability to add their fiesta in sorrier soil such as acidic swap and rocky outcrops. They are called carnivores plant after their favorite food- MEAT which gives them nutritional boost. But humans have nothing to fear from these  meat eating plants. They are deadly only to morsel size animals such as flies,lizards,frogs etc.

Why is this tree the cold of the rainbow?


Bits of the bark of eucalyptus deglupta aka rainbow eucalyptus fall of at the different times of the year to reveal the fresh green bark inside. That bark then turns the rainbow of color- blue ,red,purple,orange as it ages. You can see this amazing eucalyptus
